Child Protection & Safeguarding
At Woodlands Park School, we hold the safeguarding and welfare of all our pupils as our highest priority. We understand that every child's welfare is of paramount importance, and we are fully committed to ensuring their safety and well-being. We recognise that some children may be particularly vulnerable to abuse, and we are dedicated to creating a safe and nurturing environment for all.
Our Beliefs:
-
Self-Worth and Positive Outlook: We acknowledge that children who have experienced abuse or neglect may struggle to develop a sense of self-worth and may find it challenging to view the world in a positive way. Our mission is to support and guide them towards healing and positive self-perception.
-
Shared Responsibility: Everyone associated with our school, whether they work within the school or support our educational community in other capacities, shares a collective objective to ensure the safety and well-being of children and young people.
Our Commitments:
We are committed to:
-
Providing a Safe Environment: Creating a safe and nurturing environment within our school setting where young people can learn, develop, and grow.
-
Identifying Vulnerable Children: Recognizing children who are suffering or at risk of significant harm, and taking appropriate actions with the aim of ensuring their safety, both within our school and at home.
Staff Responsibilities:
Staff members, especially those who have regular daily contact with students, have a duty to protect children from abuse. They are trained to recognise signs of possible abuse and to know how to raise concerns regarding safeguarding.
Our Efforts:
We are unwavering in our commitment to safeguarding our pupils and providing support to their families. We work collaboratively with various agencies to offer the best possible care and resources to our students.
All our staff members undergo comprehensive training to raise their awareness of and sensitivity to child protection issues. This training ensures they can contribute to the overall safety of our school community.
Reporting Concerns:
If you have any concerns about the welfare of a child at Woodlands Park School, please do not hesitate to reach out to a member of our School's safeguarding team. We encourage open communication and collaboration to ensure the safety and well-being of all our students.
At Woodlands Park School, we are dedicated to fostering a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment where every child can flourish, free from harm, and with the opportunity to reach their full potential.
