This term, Foxes will be exploring two books in English ‘The Mermaid of Zennor’ and ‘FArTHER’. Alongside reading these books, the children will be exploring a range of writing strategies: Poetry, setting descriptions, formal letters, scripts, information booklets and tourists guides.
In Maths, the children will be looking closely at a range of addition and subtraction techniques. They will use both, abstract and concrete, resources to do so. They will begin to look at the measurement concept of area by counting squares and drawing shapes.
In Science, the children will be exploring electricity. They will build simple circuits, explore conductors and insulators, experiment with series and parallel circuits, and learn about electrical safety through hands-on activities and experiments.
In Geography, Foxes will explore Spain and Catalonia's geography, culture, landmarks, and language. They will compare regions, learn about climate, traditions, and explore famous places through maps and activities.
In RE, Foxes will learn about Diwali, its significance in Hinduism, and the traditions associated with the festival. They will explore the story behind Diwali, its customs, and celebrations.
In PE, the children will start to develop the core skills and tactics in order to sequence a dance routine, initially solo, but eventually in a pair or group setting.
In Computing, the children will be creating using different programmes in scratch. They will also look at how they can use the internet to carry out efficient and factual research.
With Mrs Saiyai, the children will be exploring the Design and Technology project of Photograph Frames and looking closely at how they are efficiently structured. They will also be developing their music skills using Glockenspiels.
