A place for everyone. Together, we are inspired to grow, learn and achieve.
19th March 2020
It is with great regret and sadness that Woodlands Park Primary and Nursery School will close at the end of the day tomorrow. This will be happening alongside all other schools in England, as directed by the Government.
The teaching and support staff are all extremely upset that they will not be seeing the majority of children for what could be a very long time. It is going to be a very emotional day tomorrow. I am very sorry that, due to my own family’s isolation, I cannot be there.
If you are in a family where BOTH parents are Key Workers or are a single parent family and you are a Key Worker, then your child will be able to come to school. You will be advised individually of the arrangements from Monday 23rd onwards. We are still waiting for official Government confirmation about which roles are considered Key Workers. You will have to provide proof of your role.
If your child has an assigned Social Worker or has an Education Health Care Plan (EHCP) your child will be able to attend school. Again, we will contact you individually to advise the arrangements.
If any of the above families are self isolating or are displaying symptoms of a cough and/or a temperature, the entire household should isolate themselves for 14 days and NOT attend school. Please remember, if your child is not attending school then social distancing needs to be applied and self-isolation should still occur if anyone in the family displays symptoms.
We are putting a plan together to support you and your family if your child has to stay at home. This could include, but is not limited to:
Things you can do to help us and the school team:
Please keep yourselves safe and well.
I would like to thank you all for your fantastic support and kind words during this time, which is difficult for everyone. My thoughts are with those families who have lost loved ones or who are worried for the health of themselves or their loved ones.
Woodlands Park is a wonderful community to be part of and we will, if we work together and support each other, get through this.
I would also like to thank my fantastic team of teachers, support and admin staff, cooks, cleaners, caretaker and governors.
We will be in constant communication with you and the children via ParentMail, School Website, Newsletters etc during normal term time.
